After School Enrichment Program (ASEP) 2017-2018 School Year

Treehouse for creative kids (TCK) after school enrichment program consists of instructional group classes in fine arts, manga and anime, acting and improvisation, theatre production, and musical theatre. The classes are designed for interested Elementary and Middle school aged students (ages 7 to 12) attending Ashburn Area public schools. TCK is a center for instructional fine arta classes. TCK is not a day care facility. The enrichment activities start right after the end of each school day and ends at 6:30pm.


    A typical ASEP Day:

  • Pick-up from School:
    - Licensed and experienced driver will pickup from elementary and middle schools in Ashburn schools. TCK has partnered with WMAF, an established after-school program, to provide transportation of students from their schools to TCK

    Arrival and Transition Period:
    Students arrive at TCK and will have a short transition period to relax and have a snack. Students should bring their own snack (peanuts & tree nuts free)

    Homework Time:
    - Students will work independently on their homework, the TCK team will check to ensure assignment completion and will be available to provide guidance and clarification on questions when needed.
    - Online tutorial math and language tools are available to students
    - Book club, students who don't have homework should bring a book to read during homework period.

    Social and Play Time
    - Students will have an opportunity to play games, participate in structured fun group activities and socialize with each other.

    Enrichment Classes or activities:
    Students will participate in enrichment activities such as computer lab, reading, free drawing, art competition.

    Enrichment Classes or activities:
    Students have an option to choose classes from class schedule and participate in a structured and fun-packed class to round out his/her creative expressions and to learn new skills. Each class meets once week.

  • - Professional experienced instructors will lead each class activity
    - Students participate in group classes, each class meets once a week for 1 hour

    Friday Bonanza:
    Each Friday is a real fun treat for the ASEP kids to wrap up the week. Activities will vary from week to week and may include craft, games, group activities, movie, social time, and face painting.

    Back To School Night:
    All participating parents will be invited to attend a back to school night, which will be held in October. Specific date and time will be emailed.

    Mid-Term (Fall session) Parents Demonstration Night:
    In early December parents are invited to observe a full rehearsal of their children’s activities, performances and view the students’ art gallery. Specific schedule and times will be emailed to each family.

    Spring (Spring session) Show case, Show Case Performances and Art Gallery:
    Students will practice and rehearse during the after school enrichment classes for a final performance and show in spring. Students will put on a cabaret of performances and art exhibit to showcase their talents. The final performance will be during the first week of June (specific information and dates will be emailed to each family).

    Please stop by TCK studio to choose your classes from schedule. Classes are available on first come first serve. There are limited seats in each class room.

    Fees including transportation:
    5/Days/Week: $131 Average weekly fee (includes 2 classes/week); an additional class is $80/month/class.
    3/Days/Week: $117 Average weekly fee (includes 2 classes/week); an additional class is $80/month/class.

    Trial Session (2 weeks): $350

    Drop-in fee with one class without transportation is $65/day (contact TCK for space availability)

    Change in Weekly Attendance: The first change will be free. Any additional changes will be $35 each time.

    Parents should pick-up their child(ren) on time.

    Holidays:
    TCK follows Loudoun County Public School calendar and observes the following holidays for the after-school enrichment program:
    September 4: Holiday (Labor Day); October 9: Holiday (Columbus Day); October 23: Student Holiday; November 6-7: Student Holiday; November 22-24: Holiday (Thanksgiving Break); December 18-January 1: Winter Break (Classes Resume January 2); January 15: Holiday (Martin Luther King Jr. Day); January 29: Student Holiday (Movable Teacher workday); February 19: Holiday (Presidents’ Day); March 26-30: Holiday (Spring Break); April 2: Student Holiday; April 9: Student Holiday; May 28: Holiday (Memorial Day); June 13: end of School year classes.

    Day Camps:
    TCK will offer day-camps during selected National Holidays, Teacher workdays and student holidays. Students will take part in fun acting games and art projects. The Day camps run 9am to 5pm, fee $50/Day camp for after-school students and $75/day for others. Before and after care is available at an extra fee. Contact TCK for more information and schedule.

    Snow days school closings - TCK follows LCPS inclement weather closings.
